Changes, changes, changes II

It has been almost a year since my last post of the same title (see it here). Now, another big change is happening.

I am moving out of Congress and going into foundation work. Another big step for me, with more opportunities to serve Filipinos. When I said yes to working in Congress, I knew I could help (in my own way). I have helped. I drafted bills and resolutions, went to seminars and forums, gave my strong opinion on issues – and I loved every bit of it. I also had a blast with my officemates: Sir Chief Ryan, ate Maricar, Eric, Otep, Mylene. Amazing to work with them, and it felt like a family. They took me in right away, and treated me well.

I will always support Cong. Lito Atienza. He is one person in politics who is solid, honest, and walks his talk. He does not waver in his convictions, and he knows what he talks about. He has good relationships with people from all walks of life, and he is an awesome mentor, friend and idol. I have learned so much from him. That you can be in politics, deal with people, and still have morals and good values. You don’t need to compromise.

Now, I take on another change by saying YES to being Executive Director of YesPinoy Foundation. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. We have a lot of work planned out, lots of chances to bring hope and opportunities to the country and to the young people, and we want to make a real difference, not just talking about making a difference, but DOING IT. It will entail a lot of work and sacrifice, but is there really any other way to achieve your goals? πŸ™‚

Again, it is bittersweet. Though I know that I am being called to serve in yet another way. Saying YES was easy knowing that God has a great plan for me, for all of us, and this is part of that plan. Here we go.
