5 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT KISSINGER REPORT & ITS IMPACT ON POP CONTROL

1.     In 1974, US Nat’l Security Advisor and Secretary of State Henry Kissinger signed the National Security Study Memorandum 200 (NSSM 200), declassified in 1989.   NSSM 200 was interested in 13 KEY countries in which special US pol and strategic interests existed.  These targeted nations were: India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nigeria, Mexico, Indonesia, Brazil, the Philippines, Thailand, Egypt, Turkey, Ethiopia and Colombia.  This would be primary targets of US funded pop control efforts.

2.     Specific NSSM 200 goals included:  Maintaining political stability for continued exploitation; and controlling pop growth as a KEY measure to achieve the above goals (controlling resources and continuing exploitation).  Specific recommendations to attain goals included:

(1)  Reduce fertility and make it effective in the 1970’s and 80’s. Plan to bring about a two-child family on ave throughout the world by about the year 2000.
(2)  Funding available for countries with LT US interests.

3.     Elements of implementation of pop control programs could include:  (1) legalization of abortion, (2) financial incentives for countries to increase abortion, sterilization and contraception use rate; (3) indoctrination of children, and (4) mandatory pop control and coercion of other forms such as withholding disaster and food aid/food supplies unless an LDC (lesser-developed country) implements pop control programs.

4.     Propaganda: Aside from influencing national leaders, hold mass media and other population educ programs by UN, USIA (US Info Agency) and USAID (US Agency for International Dev’t).  Help of UNFPA.  Info programs worldwide and expansion w/ multilateral institutions in pop educ programs.  US to cover up its pop control actvs and avoid charges of imperialism by inducing UN  and various NGO’s to do the work.

5.     NSSM 200 was a statement composed after the fact. During the late 1960s and early 1970s, the U.S. had worked diligently behind the scenes to advance the population-control agenda at the United Nations, contributing the initial funding of $1 million.  The US govt has NEVER renounced NSSM 200.  It remains the foundational doc on pop control issued by the US govt. today.
