Faux Reality (December 12): Ernie and Cindy! Go Over-Achieving Asians!
Amazing Race finished today. And, my team won! Ernie and Cindy! I am a sucker for over-achieving Asians, so it was good to see them cross the finish line first. Jeremy and Sandy lost it at Home Depot. Amani and Marcus lost it at the flight simulator. It was Ernie and Cindy all the way! Congratulations!

In Survivor Philippines, SHOCKER, Isabel got voted off (well, via tie-breaker challenge). Arthur and Betong will go next if Bulan loses again. Tala has to lose on purpose. And one of the Orig Bulan should pretend to switch to Tala if they ever hope to make numbers on merge. Maybe Stef. Then they vote for Carlo.
Faux Reality (November 29): Jackie Forester and Angelicopter: QUITTERS
Quitters.
Survivor is not for quitters. What we watch on TV doesn’t translate to the realities of living on an island. How would we know how it really goes until we actually join? Richard is right when he said the Production Team won’t be swatting away flies and shooing away animals for them. They have to use common sense.
Angelicopter and Jackie kept saying they could finish the game if they wanted to, and that they are stronger than whatever is put in front of them…. what? Then they quit? They contradicted themselves. Words are easy, actions are a whole different story.
Maribel’s mind games worked. She pushed them to think they were at the short end of the stick. She played with their minds. And these two girls cracked. And they probably knew they were on their way out anyway. Now they leave Maribel, Chuckie and Isabel with immunity. If they lose again, who goes next? The logical target would be Betong and Maey. But with a tribe like this, I bet there will be another quitter soon.
That’s the problem with “celebrities”. They can’t handle the stress of real life. Even extreme real life. Well, last season had a good cast, they were chosen well. This season, I think they focused more on getting controversial celebrities, and maybe skipped some mental tests to see if they can handle it. Give us a normal season next, please.

As for the Amazing Race, Bill and Cathi were eliminated. Just one more leg before the finals. Amani and Marcus are toast.
Faux Reality (November 27): My favorite player is Maria Isabel Lopez
She is playing the game. Maybe not physically, but strategically and psychologically. Hats off to you! We found our very own Russell. Maybe even with a bit of Jonny Fairplay in there. I don’t think she’ll win, or even make it out of the second Tala Tribal Council. But she is awesome to watch. She wants her daughter to go far (what’s up with Mara going after John of the Volcanoes? Too obvious), and she is playing well – who else hides their Immunity Bracelet in their underwear?
Bulan is physically stronger, no doubt. And they have a 5-strong alliance – everyone except Stef. Funny how Gino isn’t on Stef’s side. I wonder if she dumped him before the show started? Tala is more united – though this Tribal will test them. They will have to split the votes between Maribel and another pair. Maribel will use her idol. And Chuckie and Isabel should use theirs too. They won’t risk voting off any guys, since the challenges are physical. So Angelicopter and Jackie will be the next to go.
After this, they’ll probably twist it and everyone will play individually.
Faux Reality (November 22)
Survivor Philippines is stretching their first Tribal Council too much. I guess they have to do it because Geneva Cruz quit right away. I feel for her. It was too emotionally draining to be with her ex-husband. And KC Montero wasn’t interested in re-kindling anything with her. It was too sad. Though it was a good show while it lasted. Maria Isabel Lopez wants to be the next to go, but with the Sexbomb dancers acting the way they are acting, it can be any one of the 3 of them. The rest (excluding Stef) seem to have a solid alliance.
In the Amazing Race, no ending yet, but Amani and Marcus are having a great rebound! They finally got their groove. Though I doubt if they will reach the end game.
Survivor South Pacific was sad. The whole Savaii tribe is now gone with Whitney and Dawn being voted off. Now the rest will have to start attacking each other. Coach will stick with Rick and Edna. Albert has Sophie. Cochran is a loose end. And Brandon… oh Brandon. Coach will have to go after Albert and Sophie if he ever plans to win. As for Redemption, Ozzy has his work cut out for him, because both Dawn and Whitney are strong and determined. I think he’ll pull it off, though.
Faux Reality (November 15)

It was a good week for the shows I follow. I liked it. Lots of excitement!
Survivor South Pacific. After they ousted Keith, it was really downhill for Ozzy’s original tribe. Cochran played them well. Though how can he think he’ll go farther with Coach’s 7… than 7th? Unless he hopes for them to start scrambling once they realize their place in the tribe. What Jim did to Sophie and Albert was good. He planted a seed in their minds that they won’t be going to the finals with Coach. Just a little too late. The double elimination episode (well, not double since it didn’t happen at the same time…) send Ozzy and Jim to battle it out with Keith. I think Ozzy has a big chance to win that. But does he have a chance to make it all the way back into the game? Ozzy will win the challenge; and even with the show trying to make us think there is a chance Coach’s tribe will fall apart, Whitney will be sent to Redemption.
Amazing Race. Finally no more non-elimination rounds. Laurence and Zac were sent home, which is ok with me because I didn’t like their team. They were too “feeling superior” since they already traveled the world. But, it didn’t count for much. With 5 teams left, Jeremy and Sandy will not be as lucky next time; and Amani and Marcus too. The final three will be Andy&Tommy, Ernie&Cindy and Bill&Cathi. I hope Bill and Cathi take it, they proved to be a good team!
Survivor Philippines. It started last night. And it looks like a good season. What do you expect when you put spoiled celebrities together on an island? They will explode. All their insecurities will come out for all of us to watch. I like that, but it is still more fun to have orfI put Geneva’s picture up there because I think she’ll be the first one to go. Nervous breakdown and public humiliation. She’ll quit by the end of this week. She’s this season’s Princess Snell.
Faux Reality (November 3)
I don’t get the Amazing Race now. It is the third non-elimination so early in the game. I expect there to be NO more non-elimination rounds. I have a feeling Andy & Tommy (because they are good racers) and Ernie & Cindy (because they still have the Express Pass) will make it to the end. Laurence & Zac and Justin & Jennifer are a toss-up. If the former can get their act together, and if the latter can stop bickering… they have a chance.
For Survivor, Cochran ruled the show. He had every right to switch his vote. He was treated badly on his own Tribe – but because he was the weakest link. Now they are probably regretting voting off Elyse when they did. Coach played his role splendidly, and Ozzy should have tried to find out who is on the outs on Coach’s Tribe. But again, too overconfident.
Will Jim be able to get Cochran voted off? If Cochran remains loyal to them, I doubt it. Cochran is the 7th in a solid 6. It will be Savaii slaughter. They’ll go after Ozzy and Jim – the strong ones, especially if it is a double-boot next.
Jeff did say it is a Double Boot
Faux Reality (October 27)
What a week for Reality TV (my fave shows, at least). Amazing Race isn’t too interesting. Survivor Philippines is gearing up to be a show to watch. Survivor South Pacific… what happened?! Awesome.
Amazing Race already used up so many non-elimination legs. They had a double elimination, but I don’t think they expected to lose Ethan and Jenna so early. This week they lost the twins Liz and Marie (Liza Marie? Maybe their parents were fans of Elvis). But the remaining teams aren’t too interesting anymore. The leaders are like surfer dudes with no expressions. Zac the guy who sailed around the world, doesn’t speak. And the rest? Not too interesting. I am going to root for Ernie and Cindy. They are finishing near the top each leg, and they still have the express pass.
Survivor Philippines is having another Celebrity Edition. I actually like the regular people edition better. Though it is nice to see celebrities rough it up and be “normal”. They just might keep doing this, and leave out those normal people who can really play and put up a good show. I like the idea that Chuckie Dreyfuss and Isabel Granada are there! Haha, 80s!
And Survivor South Pacific…. Ozzy and Coach have been good characters this Season! And Ozzy’s move just made him the best player, ever…. well, if it works. With a show this long, and with coming back a third time, he needed a bold move to keep his Survivor life interesting. I can understand that. He can be a Boston Rob and control everything from the start. He can be a Russell and scheme and lie. He can be a Parvati and flirt. A Sandra and be devious. But he is paving his own way. Not playing how people usually play. And I hope it pays off. He’ll go down in Survivor history both ways, anyway. The merge is next, and if Ozzy’s move pays off, they’ll go tied (well, even if he loses, Christine will move to them), but I feel they’ll win more than Coach’s tribe. Awesome. That’s why I love Survivor.
Go Ozzy!
